The climate crisis is real, and it’s time we start acting like it.

Wilmington must move quickly to reduce our emissions and prepare for certain ecological changes that now cannot be avoided. Increased frequency and intensity of severe weather events, sunny-day flooding along the riverfront, sea-level rise overwhelming our stormwater, and water and sewer utilities, and extreme temperatures are here and they will only get worse.

Due to our geographic location and surrounding waters, Wilmington is literally in the crosshairs of the climate crisis. Now is the time for bold leadership and fearless decision-making to prepare for what will otherwise be financially devastating effects on local businesses, on taxpayers and homeowners, and on our city government.

I plan to work for the following priorities:
